Cylindrical and on spreading foot, the foot and sides each engraved with foliage scrolls, the sides further engraved with four coats-of-arms and inset with twelve coins, the hinged cover further engraved with four coats-of-arms and with a central coin, the beaded handle with scroll thumbpiece, marked underneath, further engraved with a scratchweight 'W9.9 lot zs'

The arms on the cover are those of Erasmus von Bennigsen (1593-1647) and his wife Adelheidt Anna von Amelunxen who he married in 1620; those of von Gittelde for Maria von Gittelde (d.1654), Erasmus' mother and Schelen for Sophia von Shele [sic] (d.1626), Adelheidt's mother.
The arms on the sides are those of von Boventen for Anna von Boventen, Erasmus' maternal grandmother; von Weltzen for Margarethe von Weltze (1528-c.1622), Erasmus' paternal grandmother; von Donup [sic] for Anne von Donop, Adelheidt's paternal grandmother and von Ripperdha for Adelheid von Ripperda, Adelheidt's maternal grandmother.
