Specialist note

This early work by Richardson was his first exhibit at the Royal Academy in 1906. 1906 was also the year that Richardson was to go into private practice as an architect. Richardson continued to exhibit at the Royal Academy until 1962, and was elected an Associate in 1936 and a full Academician in 1944.

We are grateful to John Harris and Charles Hind for their assistance with cataloguing the group of architectural drawings.
