Each with an oval padded back surmounted by an anthemion clasp and a serpentine seat, upholstered in buttoned pink cotton covers, on fluted square tapering legs with roundel blocks, part re-railed (2)

Probably supplied to Humphrey Sturt for Crichel, Dorset, circa 1775, thence by descent to the Hon. Mrs. Marten, O.B.E., D.L., at Crichel.
