The first with sides painted with gilt foliage on a black ground, the main scene depicting Marie Antoinette being escorted from a Gothic chapel by soldiers, with weeping ladies' maids and protesting children around her; the second tray with foliate-cast pierced sides, the main scene in the manner of Salvator Rosa, depicting figures, mules and a lone rider travelling along a rocky path, with large rocks and trees in the foreground and mountains and a valley in the background, both trays with protective glass covers
