Carved to one side with a chilong, the other with a phoenix, flanked by two branches of peony to the sides, the cover carved with a phoenix holding a branch in its beak, on carved wood stand
10 in. (25.5 cm.) high

Private English Collection, acquired circa 1970 from a member of the First American Volunteer Group, nicknamed the "Flying Tigers", who acquired it, by repute, in China during the Second World War
