Specialist note
Conrad Dressler (856-1940) was a German-born sculptor who studied at the Royal College of Art, London and subsequently lived in both Paris and North America. He was influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and was awarded the John Scott Medal of the Franklin Institute for his design of an industrial level tunnel kiln for the English pottery industry.
