A GRADUATED SET OF TEN WILLIAM IV/EARLY VICTORIAN SILVER MEAT DISHES AND PLATES
MARK OF WILLIAM BATEMAN (II), LONDON, 1833 AND 1839
All with reed and ribbon borders and engraved with coat of arms, comprising:- one large shaped oval meat dish 19¾ in. long (50.5 cm.), one meat dish 17 in. long (43.4 cm.) and one large dinner plate 12 in. diameter (30.5 cm.) all 1833, the remainder 1839, comprising:- a pair of meat dishes 14¼ in. long (36 cm.), 3 meat dishes 13 in. long (33 cm.), one meat dish 17¼ in. long (43.6 cm.) and a soup plate 10¾ in. diameter (27.6 cm.)

Specialist note

The arms are for the marriage in 1819 of The Hon. Robert Henry Clive to Lady Harriet Windsor.
Robert Clive (1789-1854) was a colonel in the Army and MP for South Shropshire, second son of Edward, 1st Earl of Powis. His wife was daughter of the 11th Earl of Plymouth.
