Besta Bestrizal (b. 1973)

The artist's realistic and detailed rendering of details with charcoal affirms Bestrizal's place as one of the best emerging contemporary Indonesian figurative painter. In I Have Got It! (Lot 360), Bestrizal portrays the figure of a boy blowing bubbles. The transience and temporary nature of the bubbles are juxtaposed with the euphoric enthusiasm of the boy, after having finally succeeded in producing them; thus creating a sense of irony.
