Of traditional form, the spout realistically cast and chased as a swan with twisted neck, wings spread and feet upright, the border repoussé and chased with a band of coils, the acanthus capped scroll handle set with a rosette, marked under base and on swan's foot; also with a French import mark

Acquired from the estate of Mrs. H.W. Hoover, who purchased the piece from the Armand Hammer Collection during the Russian Imperial Exhibition at Lord and Taylor in 1934.
