Each with a waved top rail and curved trellis back above a solid dished seat with roundels to front corners on interlaced and scrolled X-supports, joined by a similar stretcher (2)

Specialist note

An identical chair was illustrated in Connoisseur, December 1940 as being from the Collection of the Duke of Somerset, and a pair, possibly from the same source was sold Christie's, London, 15 November 1990, lot 78 (£28,600 including premium).
