Countess Mária Anna Esterházy de Galántha, née Pálffy de Erdöd (1747-1799), seated in a landscape, in red and gold shot-silk dress with white upstand lace collar and cuffs, gauze veil draped over her right shoulder and white shawl draped over plinth on which her left hand and right arm rests, her powdered hair dressed with black ostrich plumes, wearing a gold locket on a chain around her neck; foliate background

Specialist note

The husband of Countess Paula Esterházy, who owned the miniatures in 1905 when Laban published his monograph on Füger, was Count Moritz II Esterházy, a great-grandson of the present sitter and her spouse Count Johann Esterházy, who is depicted in the previous lot.
