This painting by Alexandre Perrier is one of the masterpieces of the Symbolist period. It is part of the trilogy 'Vie et mort du poète' of which the painting 'Vie du poète' is missing and no image is known. The shores of Lake Geneva in Clarens are depicted; in the background Le Grammont is visible.
