signed and numbered 'A. Rodin 2e épreuve' (on the right side of the base); inscribed with foundry mark 'Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris' (on the back of the base); with raised signature 'A. Rodin' (on the underside)
bronze with dark brown patina
Height: 14½ in. (36.8 cm.)
Conceived by 1889; this bronze version cast in 1921
