Note du spécialiste

The present paintings were originally one single canvas and were divided into two in 1960. They are part of an unfinished representation of a calendar as, in its current state, the first painting represents the month October, the latter the month September. It has been suggested the golf course is Crans sur Sierre in Switzerland.
