Specialist note

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with opaline-white dial in 2003 and its subsequent sale on 29 July 2003. Furthermore delivered with Certificate of Origin dated 23 Septembre 2003 retailed by Gübelin, rotating box, setting pin and instructions for use.

Reference 3940, in production from 1985 until 2006, was available in different case materials, platinum being the rarest. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 292-293.
