Specialist note

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with facetted case and silvered dial with black enamel indices and its subsequent sale on 29 November 1937. The present watch is an early and rare Patek Philippe reference from the 1930s, distinguished by its elegant and facetted body and facetted crystal. Its elongated case with slightly curved back ergonomically fits on the wrist.

Reference 137 with its rectangular facetted case was launched in 1933 and in production for only three years. Known only in yellow gold or in white gold, the watch on offer is only one of six yellow gold examples to have appeared at auction to date.
