With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvery opaline-white dial and applied Breguet numerals in 1992 and its subsequent sale on 7 December 1992.
Production of reference 5040 was launched in 1992 and ceased in 2007, the majority cased in yellow gold, then in platinum, white gold, and a smaller number available in pink gold. The present example is from the early production of this model.
This model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 295.
