Specialist note

According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch was manufactured in 1949.

The finishing of this skeletonized movement is quite rare and unusual for this model. The main plate is engraved whereas the bridges are decorated with Cotes de Geneve. We have hardly ever seen another example like this one in the past, showing this combination of decoration.

The present watch is prominently illustrated in Ore D'oro by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti and Franco Nencini, second edition. A similar watch is illustrated in Audemars Piguet by Gisbert L. Brunner, Christian Pfeiffer-Belli, Martin K. Wehrli, p. 200.
