Yusuf Aygeç (Turkish, b. 1989)

"If I were" is the starting point of Yusuf Aygeç's paintings as he observes the cultural transitions taking place around him. As part of the young generation of artists, he feels naturally inclined to Pop Art, yet he remains attached to his cultural roots. He chooses to reinterpret old commodified paintings and attempts through his artistic journey to reach what he refers to as the Popular.
