Meiji period (late 19th century)
Both decorated with inlaid mother-of-pearl, coral, colored ivory and lacquer with a design of birds among flowers on one side and beauties beneath wisteria on the opposite, each with silver mount, the wood stands comprising four legs on lobed bases decorated with confronting phoenixes in gold lacquer
