Specialist note

Udagawa Kazuo was a bronze sculptor based in Tokyo. Between 1900 and 1910 he exhibited regularly at domestic and international expositions, including the St. Louis exposition in 1904. He was a member of Tokyo Chokokai (Tokyo Sculptors Association) and was also known for his ivory carvings.
