William Acton (BRITISH, 1906-1945)

The artist William Acton was the younger brother of the great British aesthete and author Sir Harold Acton (1904-1994). He painted the present lot in India where Markie's father was a prominent banker. The sitter in the present portrait died tragically at a young age.
