Painted with Aurora amongst clouds, after Pierre-Narcisse Guérin, within a tooled gilt oval panel, gilt to the reverse with a mask within a fruiting garland, the sides gilt with scrolls and cornucopia

Specialist note

The painted panel of Aurora is after a detail of L'Aurore et Céphale by Pierre-Narcisse Guérin (1774-1833). This painting was exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1810 and 1814, and is currently displayed in the Musée de Louvre.
