Patek Philippe. A Fine and Rare 18k Gold and Platinum Rectangular Wristwatch

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the movement in the present watch in 1908 and encased in 1926, and its subsequent sale on October 15th of 1930.

The present wristwatch must be considered one of the most beautiful, exclusive, but also largest designs that Patek Philippe made in the second half of the 1920's. In fact, the Great Depression brought Patek Philippe's production nearly to a complete halt, and buyers for the most exclusive watches, such as the present one, became very scarce. Featuring a pendant watch movement from 1908, the present watch was not cased until 1926, but then remained unsold for another four years, until eventually finding a buyer in 1930. The Breguet numerals are a perfect match for the platinum and gold case, all paired with the much sought after "double-line" signature. We cannot think of a larger sized wristwatch of this period in a two-tone case, and one must consider the present model as a very important, but equally beautiful, representative from the "Roaring 20's" of Patek Philippe's production.
