Jean-Louis Maucuy, maître in 1770.

Maucuy was the son of clockmakers Pierre-Denis Maucuy (d. 1766) and Elisabeth Cormasson and succeeded his mother in taking over the operations of his father's shop. His business is recorded at Rues Saint-Martin and Aubry-le-Boucher in 1770, Rue Saint-Denis in 1812 and Rue de la Vieille Monnaie in 1815 (J.-D. Augarde, Les Ouvriers du Temps, Geneva, 1996, p. 374; Tardy, Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français, Paris, p. 449).
