The shaped openwork bezel of double cruciform pattern set with square and rectangular-cut emeralds, in rub-over collet settings, with gold loop intersections, mounted in gold, circa 1650

This lot was part of the gold emerald treasure recovered from the Nuestra Señora De Las Maravillas shipwrecked off the coast of Havanna in January 1656 where it lay undiscovered until its cargoe was finally salvaged by Captain Herbert Humphreys in the late 1980s.
