signed with initials 'GR' (lower left) and dated 'Septr 16th/1829.' (lower right) and further signed with initials 27 times (on the reverse)

Specialist note

The present work was executed early in Richmond's career and the multiple versions of his monogram on the reverse suggest that as a young artist he was practising his signature.
