The Madonna of Loreto adored by a bishop saint, with a text from Revelations, and Saint Stanislaus Kostka
signed with monogram 'PAN'
pen and black ink and watercolour, inscribed arched top
12½ x 8½ in. (31.7 x 21.6 cm.)

Note du spécialiste

The attributes of the saint on the right suggest that he is Saint Stanislaus Kostka (1550-1568), the son of an aristocratic Polish family who became a Jesuit novice. He is often depicted with a lily and the infant Jesus.
