Acquired by the grandfather of the present owner.
Kunstsammlungen zu Weimar, 1945, inv. no. 29, whence restituted to the father of the present owner in 1993.

Specialist note

This copper repeats, with several variants (notably in the landscape), the Crucifixion by Paolo Veronese in the Szépmüvészeti Muzeum in Budapest.
