Specialist note

A variant of the present miniature (cracked), with a green curtain background and formerly in the collection of Etienne Delaunoy, was exhibited Brussels, Kredietbank, Autissier et le portrait miniature romantique en Belgique, 1998, no. 17, illustrated in colour p. 41.
