Specialist note

Maria Theresa of Savoy was the daughter of Victor Amadeus III (see lot 281) and his wife Infanta Maria Antonia of Spain. She married, in 1773, Charles, Comte d'Artois, the youngest grandson of Louis XV of France. During the French Revolution she fled France with her husband and took refuge in her homeland of Savoy. After her death the Comte d'Artois became King Charles X of France.
