A PAIR OF FRENCH BRONZE GROUPS OF 'FEMME ET AMOUR' EMBLEMATIC OF WATER AND FIRE

Louis Sauvageau exhibited at the salon from 1848 to 1874. The present pair of bronze groups are conceived in the spirit of the mid-18th century and are emblematic of water (or autumn) and fire (or winter). See P. Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXe Siecle, Paris, 2005, p. 647.
