The watch was a personal gift to Mr Arthur Ernest Robinson RVM (Royal Victorian Medal) by President Tito of Yugoslavia in 1973. Arthur Robinson was Chargehand Gardener and Keeper of the Royal Budgerigars at Windsor Castle. In 1972 Queen Elizabeth II visited Yugoslavia and made a gift of 12 pairs of budgies; Arthur Robinson presented this gift to President Tito in 1973. Hence by descent

President Tito (1892-1980), born Josip Broz, was successively Prime Minister (1945-1953) and President of Yugoslavia (1953-1980).
