The large stoneware bowl and cover with a tenmoku glaze both inside and out, wiped off where the rims meet, with two applied handles to each side, BL and circular S/I seal above the base
25cm. high

Specialist note

The shape of the vessel is highly reminiscent of the temple in an early etching by Bernard Leach, 'Temple of the Moon, Peking', 1916, see lot 74.
