FIRST EDITION. Subjects include jousting and historical scenes, a steeple chase, ladies racing, and a race with monkey jockeys. Menessier de la Lance I, p. 6: 'Les chevaux de Victor Adam ... sont souvent élégants et gracieux et ont parfois un mouvement endiablé'.
