This tureen is possibly from the service acquired in several intervals by Henri-Léonard-Jean-Baptiste Bertin who held a number of important positions in the final decades of the Ancien régime including secrétaire d'Etat and contrôleur-général des Finances and administrateur et commissaire du Roi of the Sèvres factory.
