A SYCAMORE AND WALNUT 'NAUTILUS' TABLE

Marc Fish is a bespoke furniture designer and cabinet maker whose sort after work is in limited supply as he only releases one new design each year. His pieces are not constructed using a rigid design process but instead are a result of an evolution of ideas, an initial concept which comes together in a process of innovation and experimentation. Fish's passion is for one-off pieces with delicate craftsmanship taking his inspiration from natural forms, art, sculpture and architecture and his creations utilize the finest materials. Initially training as a metal fabricator, his attention to detail is extremely fine and thanks to his understanding of this process he often skillfully blends timber and metal in his creations. The finesse of his pieces lends them to attracting attention when exhibited such as with the present table which was the cover shot for the Cheltenham 'Celebration of Design & Craftsmanship' exhibition this year. Fish's workshop is in East Sussex where he also runs 'Robinson House Studio', a critically acclaimed studio where he teaches furniture making to private students.
