Each rectangular top above a profusely carved foliate frieze with two drawers, on acanthus supports with rosette roundels joined by an acanthus clasped stretcher

Specialist note

The overall form of these tables is influenced by British designs of the 1830s and 1840s, whilst the treatment of the profusely carved surfaces is similar to examples produced in Bombay during this period. See Amin Jaffer, Furniture from British India and Ceylon, 2001, p. 334-341.
