The present owner acquired this work in 1996 from Ms. Gitanjali Dhingra. Ms. Dhingra's father, Mr. Baldoon Dhingra was an art historian, writer and poet, who was a resident of Paris from the 1940s -1960s while serving as an Indian delegate to UNESCO. He was an ardent collector and likely acquired this work on one of his many trips back to India.
