A gift from the designer to Doreen Murphy, the model for Games' famously withdrawn poster designed to attract women to the ATS, and by descent to the present owner.

Specialist note

Games won the competition to design the emblem in September 1948, three years before the Festival began. This is one of only 12 signed proofs for the final design.
