The shaped rectangular moulded brocatella di Spagna marble top above two short and two long drawers, the waved apron and quarter-veneered sides above cabriole legs terminating in foliate sabots, with Italian duty label to reverse, the marble top replaced
37½ in. (95 cm.) high; 49½ in. (126 cm.) wide; 25½ in. (65 cm.) deep

Specialist note

A commode of related form and with identical handles is illustrated in L. Caumont Caimi, L'Ebanisteria Genovese del Settecento, Parma, 1995, p.164, no.127 and sold Sotheby's London, 7 December 2005, lot 205 (£84,000 with premium), while another commode displaying similar marquetry is in Palazzo Pallavicino (illustrated ibid., p.140, ill.97).
