Third (best) edition, complete WITH THE WORLD MAP AND THE MAP OF THE MALAY ARCHIPELAGO. This extensively illustrated collection of more than twenty voyages to the East and West Indies constitutes one of the most valuable records of Dutch exploration. The accounts also relate to the North West Passage, and to the Strait of Magellan. Janssonius, after taking over from Colijn, supplemented the work with a large number of new illustrations in the same style; bibliographies disagree on the total number of plates. Cox I, p.9; Landwehr VOC 250; Sabin 14959; Tiele, passim; cf. Shirley 304 (for the world map). (2)
