With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with Breguet hour markers in gold and tachometer scale in 1955 and its subsequent sale on 1 October 1956.
Reference 1463 is the only vintage Patek Philippe chronograph model with screw back case and round pushers. Often worn by their original owners and consequently regularly serviced and polished, many examples of this iconic and noble sports watch have not survived without visible traces of use.
Consequently, 1463 models like the example offered here for sale are exceedingly rare. It impresses with its beautiful and rich case proportions, most obvious are the well preserved edges of its bezel and lugs, including its crisp gold marks. Examples with Breguet numerals are not only extraordinarily rare but in terms of looks probably the most exciting and seducing combination. Specimens, like the present, where the Extract of Patek Philippe's Archives confirm the original Breguet numeral dial are close to impossible finds. In fact, a close count reveals that less than 12 examples of a reference 1463 with Breguet numerals have appeared at auction to date.
Very few examples have survived with such quality as the present reference 1463 and this watch will without any doubts interest any discerning collector.
