Fresh to the market, the present reference 3960 is preserved in excellent condition.
The celebrated "Officier" model was made to commemorate Patek Philippe's 150th Anniversary in April 1989. It was made in a limited edition of 2000 pieces in yellow gold, 150 pieces in white gold, such as the present lot and 50 pieces in platinum.
The "Officier" model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 123.
