Conceived in 1960 and cast in 1973 in an edition of ten.

Acquired at the above sale by the father of the present owner.

Specialist note

In 1960 Picasso collaborated with the goldsmith François Hugo to create this and four other free-standing figurines: a Bacchante, a Pipe-player, a Dancing figure with cymbals and another version of the Centaur brandishing a spear.
