Decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, togidashi-e, hirame, kirigane and gyobu on a polished black lacquer and mura-nashiji ground with fan-shaped papers decorated with painted handscrolls, maple trees, plum blossom, ginko and flowers, the hinged doors opening to reveal four drawers decorated with birds, butterflies and flowers, the interior of the doors with origami cranes, engraved silver and gilt fittings, the drawers with nashiji interiors
