Specialist note

The spiral reeding is a characteristic thought to be associated with furniture produced in Cork, Ireland. A sideboard with a similarly large-scale solid gallery is at Glin Castle, Co. Limerick and illustrated in The Knight of Glin & J. Peill, Irish Furniture, Londonn, 2007, p. 195, fig. 261.
