Oval, the rim gadrooned with shells at intervals, the handles with acanthus joins and conforming decoration, the field engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on reverse
29 1/8 in. (74 cm.) long over handles; 129 oz. (4,014 gr.)

Specialist note

The arms are those of Manners impaling those of Copley for The Rt. Hon. Sir Thomas Manners Sutton, 1st Baron Manners, who married Anne, daughter of Sir Joseph Copley in 1803. Lord Manners (b. 1756) was the third son of the Duke of Rutland.
