signed and numbered 'A. Rodin No 5/8' (on the top of the base); inscribed with foundry mark 'E. GODARD Fondr' (on the left side of the base); inscribed and dated 'c BY MUSEE Rodin 1985' (on the back of the base)

Conceived circa 1893; this bronze version cast in 1985
