unique gelatin silver with affixed chromogenic print, illustrations in coloured inks and collage including leaf, stone, starfish and insect
signed, titled, dated and annotated extensively in ink (image and mount, recto)

Specialist note

Karen Blixen and Ingrid Lindstrom were photographed by Thomas Dinesen (Karen Blixens brother) in Kenya 1921. Peter Beard acquired the photograph from Thomas in Denmark for his book Longing for Darkness, 1975. Peter completed the work in the early 90's in Nairobi and then had it framed in Montauk, Long Island driftwood in 1994.
